Gamification in education

In this online course, you will learn how to use gamification to create meaningful and inclusive learning experiences and boost engagement in youth work. You will discover how game elements can be applied in different educational contexts and gain practical tools to design, implement, and assess gamified activities.

Throughout the course, you will find videos recorded during the international seminar “Gamification in Education” held in 2025 and organized by KVAK. Also, there will be questions and challenges that help you reflect and apply what you learn.

ABOUT

KVAK project

KVAK addresses 3 critical areas that are lacking in the education of youth workers: i) safe and effective feedback delivery, ii) care for vulnerable groups, and iii) appropriate attitude towards participants.

KVAK has two general objectives in the 3 critical areas:

  • to standardise the practices of youth work
  • facilitate the education of youth workers

KVAK has 3 priorities: development of quality youth work, digital transformation, and inclusivity and diversity.

Partners

Our partnership is made of 5 organisations from 4 countries (Italy, Spain, Slovenia and The Netherlands) which have joined forces to improve quality, innovation, and recognition in youth work by strengthening feedback skills, inclusion of vulnerable groups, and professional attitudes, while promoting common standards, training, digital transformation, and diversity.

Open Badges and Cities of Learning

Open Badges are digital certificates that recognise your learning, achievements, and skills. Unlike traditional certificates, they are flexible, visual, and easy to share online.

In the KVAK platform, every course completed leads to a digital certification in the form of an Open Badge. These badges are issued through the Cities of Learning platform.
